and two guests makes TWELVE!

November 15, 2010

Today is our last stay at the Gerritsen’s home, a lovely family of ten-two parents, EIGHT children. We had quite the eventful stay here, and loved it! Though the volume of people was a stretch for us, we quickly grew to appreciate the benfits of a big family.

The kids were all amazing, each with their unique personalities and quirks. They kept our time filled, as we were somewhat of a novelty here. We played basketball, painted and restored multiple areas of the house, bake pumpkin pie and made pumpkin soup-both from scratch and DELICIOUS, and enjoyed nice strolls down the road and hikes up the hills with the kids. Oh and if you haven’t seen the video yet of Ashley saving a pig, check it out here-it is sure to amuse you!

Tomorrow we will be leaving this lovely family, and I know that we will be missed as much as we will miss them, because the children have been asking us for days if we will stay forever, or at least until ones birthday in March :P. This stay gave us a taste of the family life, and I know we will use some of the things we have learned here later (later, later, later) on in life! 🙂

Please keep us in your prayers as we leave tomorrow to hitch hike to Tauranga, where we will stay the night with our last hosts, enjoying some food and convivium, and then will head the next day to hitch again to Auckland, where we hope to get a vehicle and a job (for Justin). Thank you Lord for answered and soon-to-be answered prayers!

lots of big familial love,
