a season for everything

January 22, 2011

i believe i speak for both of us when i can say the Lord is bringing us into a whole new season with this new year.

As I mentioned in our last blog post, Justin and I have decided for this year that we would both like to seek the Lord, infinitely better than we have ever before, and more specifically to seek His discipline, both as a couple and as individuals. We began by spending most of our time reading our bibles, meditating, praying, contemplating- and a million other verb words- about what the Lord’s discipline can look like.

After all of these things, and each of us seeking the advice of a few friends whose walk we look up to, we think we have a pretty good idea of what we are in for. Also, reading Job, the OT, and Hebrews (specifically chapters 11 & 12) helped to shed some light on the subject.

We have been encountering many trials as of late, and are eagerly seeking guidance on  what step to take next. Justin’s job fell through, so we are trying to figure out our next step!

Luckily, we are in a beautiful place outside of Auckland called the Aio Wira Centre, a retreat centre that caters to groups coming for fasts, bodywork, meditation and yoga. We are spending most of our working day here cooking, with a little bit of cleaning, with plenty of time to reflect and study.

We are very excited about what the Lord is going to bring in this year, and hope for all of you the He does some very awesome things!
